CaLiFoRNiA!! Day 2

The second day I was in Cali we drove up to San Francisco. The drive was so beautiful (really there aren't words grand enough to describe the beauty),it was so great! We had fun visiting San Francisco. First we went to see the Golden Gate Bridge. It was so tall, I had no idea. The fog was a little too thick to see the very top of the bridge but it was still very grand! What I noticed first and foremost though was how incredibly cold it is out there!! Hello it's California, isn't it supposed to be warm?!

Here is the city of San Francisco.

After the bridge we visited Pier 39 to check out some tourist shops. We saw street performers, more sea lions, and then we saw Alcatraz.

After all our adventures we went and had lunch over-looking a Fisherman's Wharf. The food was great, I had a shrimp salad sandwich! When we were leaving the Fisherman's Wharf there was scary looking street performer sitting on the side of the road. I jumped out of my friend's car to snap a picture of him to show my boys. As I was getting back into the car the performer apparently followed me, and then scared the daylights out of me when I turned around. Fun times! Lastly before we drove back to my friend's house we stopped at China Town. That was an experience! We walked through a lot of the little shops and had fun looking at the souvenirs. It was a fun and long day. On the drive home we took a different highway and saw this really spectacular sight. It was a a huge hill and big, fluffy clouds were starting to come down from the top! I have never seen anything like that before!

CaLiFoRNiA!! Day 1

This past summer I had the great privilege to go visit my very best friend in California! It was such a great trip, and I had so much fun. I am so grateful (still) to my wonderful friend for letting me go out to see her! We had a blast visiting little shops, driving around, seeing all the scenery.What I most enjoyed though was getting to spend time with my friend, and catch up. It really was a ton of fun.

This was mountain we came to at the end of our drive, we turned around and went home after we saw this. It would have been so cool to go hiking up that gorgeous piece of land!

We stopped to have lunch on the river along Big Sur. Chairs were set up in the river for people to eat. The water was freezing, but we got used to it after awhile (when we basically couldn't feel our feet anymore!). It was so great to eat lunch in the river surrounded by huge red-wood trees.
We took some picturee, and then we just enjoyed talking and hanging out. It was such a great time.

Last on our trip during day one was a stop at Fisherman's Wharf in Monterrey! I was so shocked to see so many sea lions!! The are so cute and I really wanted to pet one, but there are signs everywhere that prohibit that! We saw seagulls, and so many jellyfish. We had dinner that night there and the food was so good!

I am grateful I was able to take a break from day to day life and my wonderful husband took care of the kids for 3 DAYS!! If I ever get the chance again I would really love to go back, it was amazingly beautiful out there in sometimes sunny California!!
