Chickens!! We have Chickens!!

I am so excited to say that we have taken sort of a leap and purchased chickens!! I am so happy about all of them!! We went out and bought 6 Plymouth Rock chickens, then my wonderful husband built them a cozy little coop. The boys have been so excited about them as well and everyday they ask me when we can go see them. The chickens are getting so big now and the excitement still hasn't worn off around our house.

My wonderful man also made me a cold frame box for hardening my plants before I put them in the garden. It is great and I am so grateful for his time and effort for making this for me and our garden!

Outside in our Backyard!

My husband and I were doing some Spring cleaning around our home last week and he got to work on cleaning the gutters out! (YAY) while he was busily cleaning on the roof the boys thought it would be a good time climb a tree they haven't been able to conquer because it doesn't have any low branches. The second oldest climbed up first, followed by the oldest. They were up pretty high, and I am so happy I don't have to finish this post with details of our trip to a hospital! The baby didn't want to be left out so he tried to climb up the ladder as well, he didn't get very far though! Our fourth handsome little guy couldn't have cared less what his brothers were up to he has been so preoccupied with finding worms all over our damp backyard. What fun boys are!

I also had fun taking pictures of our wonderful cherry blossom bush, it is so gorgeous in the Spring! Last but not least, we also planted hens and chicks on the side of our house because my husband really likes them and they are fitting in nicely.

Outside fun!

As I have said many times before I absolutely adore Springtime. It is probably my most favorite time of the year hands down, I always feel so much better when the weather warms up enough to be outside.
I think the kids enjoy it too because we are together and working, playing, and hiking. During a recent outing to a much enjoyed park about an hour from our home we took a hike and had fun seeing everything coming back to life! We found on our trip a dead mole, which of course the boys were more thrilled to find than I was! The kids found some trees to climb and it was just a really great time together as a family!

Doing some catching up!

This year has started out alright, and now I'm going to catch up this blog to reflect some of the highlights so far!
We had a fun Valentines Day. The boys and myself went to a party with our homeschool group!
We also celebrated with a few treats at home including heart shaped pizza!
My wonderful husband brought me home beautiful flowers and a cute teddy bear.

I started seeds inside that of course grew into healthy plants for the garden. I get so much joy and satisfaction from watching plants grow from seeds into healthy plants it's silly. I really look froward to Spring and catching up on outside time after being stuck in the house all Winter!

Our little baby had fun one day playing in the puddles that formed in our yard. He was a filthy mess head to toe! He had fun though and his brothers had a good laugh from his antics!
